1. REMINDER: Workday, TOMORROW, Saturday, October 2, 2010

Please join us TOMORROWSaturday, October 2, 2010, from 10am-1pm, to help spruce up the Park in preparation for the Fall.  We’ll provide tools and gloves, but bring extra if you have them.  As a reminder, please leave your canine friends at home – we will CLOSE THE PARK during cleanup.

ALL members are invited to join the workday, but if you are on the Landscaping, Workday, & Gardens Committee, it is part of your Park commitment to participate in our semi-annual Park clean-up/workdays. Questions? Contact Landscaping Committee Chair Jack Cassidy at cplace49@comcast.net.

2. REMINDER: Hound-o-ween, Saturday October, 30, 2010

Join us Saturday, October 30, 2010, from 12:30-3:00 pm (judging at 1:30) for the Dog Park’s annual Hound-o-ween party!  (rain date Sunday 10/31, same time). Bring your pup in a creative costume, and enjoy hanging out with fellow dog park members – there will be games, refreshments, and prizes for the best-costumed hounds and their people.   Its always a fun afternoon.   Registered (tag-wearing) members only, please.  Check out photos (and prize winners) from last year at: http://www.oriannahill.org/photos.

3.  iPHONE, iPAD, iTOUCH App for dog owners

A park member had created an iPhone, iPad, iTouch application, called Om Nom, which contains a database of dozens of foods and other substances that can be harmful to dogs.  It provides an overview of the dangers, a list of the symptoms, and information about treatment. Om Nom also includes a helpful “Chocolate Toxcitiy Calculator,” to determine how much chocolate is too much for your dog.  Thoguh dogs should not be given ANY chocolate.  The app costs 99¢.  More information is available at http://omnomapp.com/.  He will be providing FREE coupon codes as Hound-o-ween prizes!
