<p>2.  <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Workday: Sunday, June 6, 2010</span></strong>.  Please join us <strong>this Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 10am &#8211; 1pm</strong>, to help spruce up the Park for the rapidly-approaching summer season.  We&#8217;ll be spreading woodchips, trimming trees and overgrowth and doing other general clean-up.  We&#8217;ll provide tools and gloves, but bring extra if you have them.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">As a reminder, <strong>please leave your canine friends at home &#8211; the PARK WILL BE CLOSED during clean-up</strong>.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">ALL members are invited to join the workday, but <strong>if you are on the Landscaping, Workday &amp; Gardens Committee, it is part of your Park commitment</strong> to participate in our semi-annual Park clean-up/workdays.  Jack Cassidy (<a href="mailto:cplace49@comcast.net">cplace49@comcast.net</a>), Chair of the Landscaping Committee, will contact all committee members directly.</p>
<p>3.  <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">More Technological Upgrades</span></strong>.  We hope you enjoy the new html format of our emails, the switch to which is part of our efforts in 2010 (along with making the membership application available online, and updating our website) to join the 21st Century!</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">We also wanted to alert you that <strong>members can now </strong><a href="http://www.oriannahill.org/login"><strong>log in</strong></a><strong> to their membership profile online</strong>, and makes changes/updates to their information, including updating contact information, or adding a new dog if you get one during the course of the year (note: if you need a new tag for a new dog, you’ll still need to email us about that for now).  Just click the “modify/update your membership info” at the bottom right corner of any email from us, or click the “<a href="http://www.oriannahill.org/login">Member Login</a>” link on our website, where you’ll find info on how to create a User ID and Password.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>1.  <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">$7000 grant received!</span></strong>  The FOOHP board is pleased to announce that <strong>the Park has received a $7,000 grant</strong> to replace the gates and fences on Orianna and Poplar Streets, to match the gate and fence on the 3rd Street side. We are thrilled, as this upgrade is sorely needed. We applied for $13,546, the amount of the estimate for the project, from the Penn Treaty Special Services District, a nonprofit set up to accept and distribute funds from SugarHouse Casino to some of the neighborhoods who will be most impacted by the casino, and were awarded $7,000.</p>
<p>2.  <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Save the Date: June 12, 2010 (6-10pm) Fundraiser</span></strong>. To help raise more money to ensure we can complete the fencing project, we are having a fundraising party on Saturday, June 12, 2010 (from 6-10pm) at the Northern Liberties Community Center at 3rd &amp; Fairmount. Please mark your calendar and save the date.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>We also need your help</strong>! As many of you know, this annual event, envisioned and spearheaded in past years by Walt Gilpin, is an important money maker for the Park.  This year, we are thrilled to have the help of those of you who signed up for our new Events &amp; Fundraising Committee, to help plan this event (everyone who designated this committee as their first choice was assigned to the committee and should have already been contact by its Chair, Anne Waginger (<a href="mailto:awaginger@aol.com">awaginger@aol.com</a>).  If you have not, or want to volunteer to help plan the event/switch to this committee, please email <a href="mailto:FOOHP2010@gmail.com">FOOHP2010@gmail.com</a> and <a href="mailto:awaginger@aol.com">awaginger@aol.com</a>).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The FOOHP bi-annual election for the Board of Directors will take place this Saturday, April 24, 2010, from 10am to 1pm at the Park.</p>
<p>Note that we have <strong>expanded the hours to vote in person to <span style="text-decoration: underline;">10</span>AM to 1PM</strong>. Please vote in person (at the Dog Park) if at all possible; it should only take a few minutes. The new Board will be announced at the Park shortly after all votes are counted, at approximately 1:30PM.  </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Dog Park will hold its biennial election for the Board of Directors on <strong>Saturday, April 24, 2010</strong>. </p>
<p>To be eligible to vote and to run for a Board position, you must be a current, 2010 “Voting Member” <span style="text-decoration: underline;">by March 24, 2010</span> – <em>i.e.</em>, have made a $50 donation in 2010, have attended an orientation session, and gotten your 2010 FOOHP tag<strong>.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Got ideas to make the dog park a better place?</strong> <strong>NOMINATIONS ARE now being accepted (DUE April 3, 2010).  You may nominate yourself or another FOOHP member for the Board. </strong></p>
