To be eligible to vote and to run for a Board position, you must be a current, 2010 “Voting Member” by March 24, 2010 – i.e., have made a $50 donation in 2010, have attended an orientation session, and gotten your 2010 FOOHP tag.

Got ideas to make the dog park a better place? NOMINATIONS ARE now being accepted (DUE April 3, 2010).  You may nominate yourself or another FOOHP member for the Board.

All human users MUST register to use the Park, and all dogs must be properly registered and wear a FOOHP dog tag in the Park at all times, so that unregistered dogs can be easily identified.

Memberships run from January to December, and must be renewed annually.

Starting in 2010, new member registration(s) and renewals will involve a two-step process:

1. Online Application. First, all prospective new and renewing members must complete an online application. The new application requires all applicants to sign up for a committee, which is a condition of membership.
2. Member Orientation. Second (after completion of the online application), ALL APPLICANTS (including renewing members) must attend a member orientation session to complete the registration process. 2010 FOOHP dog tags will be distributed at the end of the orientation session. You must wait until you attend the orientation and receive your tag(s) before using the Park.

The member orientation sessions, which are for humans only, will be held at the NLNA Community•Center, which is at the corner of N. 3rd Street and Fairmount Avenue.  They will last approximately 30 minutes and include a 10 minute video.  Because the session is so short, if you are more than 5 minutes late, you will not be admitted and will be asked to return for another orientation.

You must fill out the online application before you attend the member orientation.  At orientation, we will check your name against the list of online applicants, and will turn away members who have not filled out the online form before they appear for orientation.

•5/20/2010 (Thurs.) at 6:30pm
•5/23/2010 (Sun.) at 4:00pm

More sessions will continue to be scheduled throughout the year approximately two times per month.

Also, note that if you are a renewing member in good standing (i.e. with a 2009 tag), you have until February 28, 2010 to complete the registration process; your 2009 tag is valid until then, after which you must have a 2010 tag to enter the Dog Park.  That is, if you complete the application process after March 1, you should refrain from using the Park between March 1 and when you attend the orientation and receive your tag.

Please note that in 2010, the cost of a voting membership is going up in 2010 to $50.00 (per person) (new members joining after July 1 may prorate to $25). Your tax-deductible donation allows us to maintain and improve Orianna Hill Park, a nonprofit, member-owned park that receives no funding from the City.
